WHAT ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
Eyelash extensions are individual synthetic fibers placed onto your natural lash that will lengthen and thicken your natural lash line. The fibers are produced in various diameters, lengths, and curls and can also be applied in different ways. Classic lash extension application will be a thicker lash placed in a 1:1 ratio and volume lash application is when 2-8 much finer lashes are skillfully formed into a fan and then placed onto one natural lash.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO APPLY A SET OF LASH EXTENSIONS?
The lash extension application can take anywhere from 2 to 3 hours, depending on the fullness of your natural lashes. The normal human eye has 150-200 lashes per eye. Volume lashes take longer then classic application because of the time it takes to create each and every fan before applying, where classic you are just placing one after the other. The amount of fullness achieved will depend on how much time you book and how many lashes each individual has. The more lashes, the fuller the lash line, and vise-versa. If you think you have finer, sparser lashes then volume lashes will be best because we can really thicken the lash line with each fanned lash and also maintain the integrity of each lash. It is a meticulous procedure, so patience is required to lay down for a couple of hours. If you get anxious easily feel free to bring headphones to listen to a podcast or audio book. This is a great distraction and helps the time move by faster. Because our studio is based on time for your appointments we suggest for a classic set anywhere from 120-150 minutes. For a volume set 150-180 minutes depending on the fullness you desire.
HOW LONG WILL A SET OF EYELASH EXTENSIONS LAST?
Most people naturally shed about 4-6 lashes every day requiring a fill every 2-3 weeks. This will be different for every individual and will depend on how you care for your extensions, lifestyle choices, and how fast or slow your natural lashes shed and grow. For a classic set we suggest 60 min every 2 weeks, 75 min for 2.5 and 90 min for a 3 week fill to keep your set at its fullest. For volume add 15 minutes to any of these times and at 4 weeks you are back to a full set. If for any reason, you feel as though your lashes are going through a heavier shed I would always add 15 minutes to fill in the extra you've lost.
HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY LASH EXTENSIONS?
-Do not get lashes wet for the first 24-48 hours.
-Do not use oil-based eye products, creams, or waterproof mascara.
-Avoid strong heat such as an oven or campfire as it can melt or distort extensions.
-Cleanse lashes daily.
-Use only water-based makeup & makeup remover.
-Remove makeup around the eyes with a soft makeup brush, avoid cotton
-Do not perm, tint, or use an eyelash curler.
-Be careful to avoid pulling extensions or rubbing eyes.
-Don't sleep on your face.
HOW DO I CHOOSE THE LOOK I WANT?
Your lash stylist will go through a thorough consultation when you arrive for your full set or fill so we can discuss what look you're going for. It is helpful to look at pictures before your appointment to get an idea of what styles you like but important to remember that everyone's face shape, eye shape, and natural lashes are different so looks will vary.The overall look of the lashes can range from very natural to very voluminous!
THE LASH DEN POLICIES:
-Please arrive with clean lashes. Dirty lashes or lashes with caked on makeup will take time away from your lash appointment and result in less lashes being applied.
-Skin sensitivities and allergies are extremely rare and your safety and care are of my utmost concern. We use the highest quality products and the most up-to-date techniques and sanitation protocols in the industry. However The Lash Den is not liable for reaction due to our products. If you are concerned, we recommend a patch test several days before your appointment. Please call or book online to schedule.
-If you have lashes on from another studio and make an appointment at ours we will have to use the first 10 minutes to go through your lashes to make sure they were applied correctly (Please book extra time) If they were applied correctly, we will continue the fill as normal. If they are stuck together and we are not comfortable working over them our policy is to remove them and start with a fresh set. (Depending on what you book we may or may not have time for this on the same day)
-We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. We understand last-minute emergencies pop-up. However, if you are unable to make your scheduled appointment with your lash stylist, please contact us as soon as possible to reschedule. We require 24 hours. (Rescheduling/Cancellations less than 24 hours from appointment time or clients who no-show without notice will be charged 50% of the appointment fee).
